Bake Parlor Macaroni Chicken Manchurian
Ingredients:
-1 lb. cooked macaroni noodles -1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed -1/2 cup soy sauce -2 tablespoons sugar -2 tablespoons rice vinegar or white vinegar -3 cloves garlic, minced -2 tablespoons cornstarch -3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided -1 onion, diced -1 red bell pepper, diced -2 green onions (scallions), chopped
Instructions:
1. In a medium bowl, add the soy sauce and rice vinegar and whisk together to combine. Add in the chicken cubes and toss to coat evenly with the marinade. Set aside for 10 minutes at room temperature or up to 8 hours in the refrigerator. 2. Meanwhile prepare all of your other ingredients by chopping the vegetables as instructed above and set aside until ready to use later on in this recipe.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil followed by the chicken cubes from step 1 along with any remaining liquid in that same bowl used for marinating them earlier on (discard any excess liquid). Cook for about 5 minutes stirring occasionally until lightly browned and cooked through completely then remove from heat onto a separate plate or bowl while you prepare your Manchurian sauce later on below…
4 Heat another 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into that same skillet over medium heat then add in your diced onion and bell pepper along with minced garlic followed by the sugar mentioned earlier on above this instructions list right away (this adds depth of flavor). Stir continuously for about 5 minutes or until onions are softened then add back into this skillet those pre cooked chicken cubes from step
3 together with any juices they have released while sitting there at rest earlier on before adding them back into here now… stir everything together nicely then pour over all of your prepared Manchurian Sauce mixture made earlier on when preparing those main ingredients needed for this recipe located just below this instructions list… stir everything together nicely coating all contents within it evenly…. Reduce heat down slightly so it simmers low & slow for about 4 minutes stirring occasionally..
5 After about 4 minutes has passed turn off stove top setting & taste test it adjusting seasonings accordingly if desired such as more soy sauce etc.. If you want an even thicker consistency feel free to mix equal parts cornstarch & water making sure there are no lumps present prior adding it into here directly stirring it throughly afterwards allowing time to thicken up slightly before serving hot warm over freshly cooked macaroni noodles topped off with fresh chopped green scallions if desired… enjoy!
